What the model measures
This crypto payment impact calculator estimates how accepting cryptocurrency alongside cards could change a merchant’s payment expense and contribution profit. It is designed for planning, not predicting your future savings. Enter actual processor rates and monthly payment activity for a meaningful scenario.
How card and hybrid payment costs are compared
The card baseline includes percentage and fixed transaction fees, cross-border surcharges, currency conversion, chargeback exposure and fixed operational costs. The hybrid scenario removes the modeled volume and transaction share from cards and adds crypto processing, network, off-ramp and operational costs. These assumptions are editable because no single rate applies to every business.

Why new sales must be separated from migrated sales
Existing revenue transferred from cards to crypto is not incremental revenue. The optional additional-sales section represents customers or orders that would not otherwise be captured. The calculator counts contribution at the selected gross margin and deducts the incremental crypto payment costs. It does not treat the full sales amount as profit.

How to assess the break-even adoption level
Break-even is a modeled threshold for payment-cost reduction given the selected cost structure. The sensitivity table varies the share of existing payment volume using the assumed relationship between shifted volume and transaction count. Results can change when average order values, international exposure, costs or customer behavior change.

Limitations and responsible use
The model cannot infer the contractual rate for your merchant account, real customer adoption, wallet fees, legal obligations or settlement restrictions. It also cannot prove that every card chargeback will disappear or that revenue will increase. Watch for double counting fulfillment losses and disputed revenue. Treat a negative result as useful evidence and validate promising scenarios with a small controlled pilot.

Common merchant questions
Does switching payments eliminate chargebacks? No: blockchain payments generally lack card chargeback mechanisms, but refunds, fraud, support disputes and fulfillment obligations remain. Can I enter a lower negotiated OxaPay fee? Yes, as a scenario; the calculator does not quote a binding rate. Does changing the reporting currency convert values? No; enter all fixed costs in the same currency.
